Hi I am Kim and this is my son Zachary who was born with Spina Bifida on Mothers Day May 11th, 1986. He was born via c-sect due to his weight 9lbs 10 oz. He was immediately taken to a hosp 100 miles away for surgery, the first of 6 he would have before he came home at 6 weeks. Zachary has a shunt, and rods in his back, and he is cathed thru his Belly Button (this is called an appendico vesicostomy) Zachary has had 17 surgeries to date. He is Home  schooled. Mentally he is 4-7. He uses a wheelchair. Zachary is a very happy child.
