Gods Precious Gift

The first time I held you, in that tender embrace.

My heart just melted, as I kissed your little face.

They took you away, and left me with bad news.

There would be many surgeries, and your legs you would never use.

We’ll get through this together, so please don’t cry.

My love for you darling, I would never deny.

You will have a rich life, with laughter and love.

And we will get through the hard times, with help from above.

To me you are perfect, and oh the spirits you lift.

I’m so thankful for my present, of Gods precious gift.

I cried as I wrote it. But the words kept coming and I couldn't put down my pen. I hope someday it will mean as much to her as it does to me.  Love, Kathi
