BRIGHT EYES

( for anyone raising a wonderful child who needs and deserves something extra)

From the time he first sees daylight, we can tell he's different. His little legs keep running in the air. His happy baby-babble leaves us weak with laughter- We know that he's the answer to our prayer. We hope and dream, as parents always do, But dreams will take some struggle to come true...

(chorus 1)
Bright Eyes can see it all, except the stone that makes him trip and fall. Hear him laugh, and watch him rise! Rising like the sun, Bright Eyes....

Clumsy in the school yard, He can't catch a football. The kids run off and leave him all alone. His motor's always running... His wheels are only spinning- So he makes a world that he can call his own. The teacher tries and sighs and leaves at three. His best and closest friend is fantasy....but

(Chorus II)
Bright Eyes still sees it all, and he hears the ones who say he's gonna
fall. Wet with tears, he cries, and cries....How can you go on, Bright Eyes?

(bridge)
What's out there for a child that doesn't fit? Who'll believe in him, so he won't quit? God, it seems so endless.... We can't forget he needs us. And tough and tender care, so he can grow. He's got to know we love him! We'll push him and protect him. Until he's strong enough to let him go....It's a rugged mountain that he's got to climb. He'll make it to the top; just give him time... Then

(Chorus III)
Bright Eyes will see it all! And he'll kick aside the stones that made him fall Standing tall to claim the prize! Shining like the sun, Bright
Eyes! Shining like the sun, Bright Eyes!

This was sent by someone who attended a Religious Education Congress for the Archdiocese of Seattle and went to a wonderful workshop for Catechists dealing with kids with disabilities. This is a song that they played at the end of the workshop.
