A Letter to Santa

One year, a long time ago, about 1991 or so...
I wanted a baby, but the Dr said ...no.
So I waited and hoped and said all my prayers,.
And in April a darling little girl appeared..
She wasn't a newborn like most mommies want.
She was a red headed 10month old, with a nature gallant..
She had a small problem that needed our care.
And into our hearts she came to share.
Her laughter and giggles and little girl charms.
And at night she would snuggle in my arms..
This baby is special I knew right away.
By the mark on her back where wings might have laid.
That Christmas was glorious, we all gave thanks.
For a new little miracle was added to our ranks.
We started with three and now there were four.
She was one more child that we are thankful for..
The years have passed and now she is seven.
This child we call Katie, a present from heaven..
