Isn't she cute??
Megan was born 4/19/95, her level is T10. She is shunted and has severe scoliosis, for which she has had partial spinal fusion. She also has kyphosis, renal reflux, and is being cathed. She is walking using her THKAFO's with a scoliosis jacket, and she uses a wheelchair.
I am interested in writing to anyone and willing to answer questions, and I also have an interesting in knowing what Early Intervention is doing in various places, as I am a parent consultant to our system here.
Megan is in kindergarten now, in a regular education classroom. Her mind, her speech, and most everything important for school is average. Her social skills are probably advanced from all that preschool. Only her braces and wheelchair separate her from the rest of the kids. Megan also enjoys swimming at the YMCA near our home.
Megan's future sounded unsure when we were first told about her. If you read the other stories here you will find Drs. often suggest abortion. Megan is the most beautiful child though, everyone wants to be around her. She will truly have a great life. If you have just found you are pregnant with an SB child please realize that.
