AKC Registered Shetland Sheepdogs

Casey, female (laying) and Sheldon, male (sitting)
She was a sable merle sheltie.  Yes, she has different colored eyes
one is blue the other is brown. Sheldon was a sable-and-white sheltie
.

These are the three pups that they had in '94.

We didn't keep any of them, though I wish I could have.

Casey had four puppies but one passed away the next evening he was very small and weak.  I held the small pup on my chest for almost 24 hrs (per the order of our vet) to keep him warm. He was to weak to feed from his mom so I tried to feed him w/ an eye dropper. But he won't eat and the next day he died in my arms which was very hard on me.  All the pups were sable-and-white. If you look at the picture closely, you will notice that the first pup has two brown eyes, the second pup has one blue eye and the other is brown and the third has two blue eyes they were so cute and very good puppies.  ALL went to good homes.

UPDATE:

Casey & Sheldon

On a very SAD note:
Our beloved Sheldon passed away in our home
(from natural causes) July 16, 04 he was almost 12 years old, and I miss him terribly!

This picture was taken the afternoon before be passed away, wasn't he cute even then?
 We love you Sheldon!

We adopted a male black lab mix on Oct 10, 04 to help us get over Sheldon's passing. His name is Eddy (though his first name was Woody -we changed it long story why lol) and we were told he was about 3.5yrs old we do not know his real age (so the vet picked Feb 14th, 2001) but he's super cute, super friendly and full of energy. He loves the kids as the kids love him!

No farewell words were spoken,
no time to say goodbye,
you were gone before I knew it
and only God knows why!

Update:

Our second Sheltie, Casey also passed way this fall, Nov 15, 04 she had a blood disorder that made her bleed and she was put down the day we found out. My heart still aches with the thought of OK'ed them to do that to her. But I know it was best for her, she was so sweet and is also much missed. Andrew took Sheldon's passing harder then Casey, but Shane took Casey's passing harder.

We love you Casey!

Guardian Angel

I have a guardian angel,

who has a fuzzy face.
she likes to press her cold nose
right upon my face.
She gives me sheltie kisses,
and helps tuck me into bed.
Then she rests right down beside me
and lays down her own sweet head.

She snuggles up beside me
and whispers in my ear,
"I love you little child
you have nothing to ever fear,
for I will be watching over you
all through out the night."

"I will watch the shadows,
as they creep across the wall
and listen for the little mouse
that might run down the hall".
"I will bark to warn your mom and dad
if something seems a little queer.

No need to worry that a burglar
may break in our home my dear".

So you see I know that I am safe
and loved by my furry sheltie friend.
She'll always be right by my side
until our journeys end.

What We Can Learn From A Dog

Never pass up the opportunity to go for a joy ride.
Allow the experience of fresh air and the wind in your face to be pure ecstasy.
When loved ones come home, always run to greet them.

When it's in your best interest, always practice obedience.
Take naps and always stretch before rising.

Run, romp and play daily.
Let others know when they have invaded your territory.
Eat with gusto and enthusiasm.
Be loyal.
Never pretend to be something you are not.
If what you want lies buried, dig until you find it.
When someone is having a bad day, be silent, sit close by and nuzzle.

Delight in the simple joy of a long walk.
Thrive on attention and let people touch you.
Avoid biting when a simple growl will do.

On hot days, drink lots of water and lie under a shady tree.
When you are happy, dance around and wag your entire body.
No matter how often you are criticized, don't buy into the guilt thing and pout.

Run right back and make friends!
